TREATMENTS

Myofascial Release/Manual Therapy

Myofascial release is a technique to reduce tension in the muscle fibers and fascia (connective tissue).  It is different than a massage you get at a spa, but it can be very effective.  I also use techniques like joint mobilizations and muscle energy to improve mobility and alignment.

Dry Needling

Dry needling uses acupuncture needles, but with a different goal and different technique.  I also utilize electrical stimulation with the needles to increase the effectiveness of the treatment.  Dry needling can help relieve pain, reduce tension, and promote healing.

Dizziness/Vestibular Rehab

If you have dizziness or balance issues, I will do an evaluation to see if there are areas that I can help you improve.  Vertigo stemming from the crystals in your inner ear (BPPV) can be treated with a simple re-positioning maneuver.

Cupping

Cupping is another technique for myofascial release.  Instead of using flame, I use a manual pump to create a vacuum inside the cup.  It improves circulation and helps to reduce tension.

Exercise/Home Program

Depending on your impairments, exercise may be a part of your treatment.  I also want all my patients to have the tools that they need to be successful with their physical therapy, as well as to maintain the progress they have made when they are discharged from my care.  I will create a home exercise program that is tailored just for you, and one that you can do independently at home.
